| SENIOR ADVISORY COUNCIL OF THE GLCC/PRIDE CENTER
The GLCC/Pride Center serves the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (GLBT) community. As part of the GLCC/Pride Center, the Senior Advisory Council (SAC) works in concert with other LGBT groups to promote visibility and awareness of the GLBT senior population through supportive and educational programs and activities.
Ken Merrifield, Chairperson coordinates the senior activities for the GLCC. Presently, the senior curriculum includes:
COFFEE AND CONVERSATION – every Tuesday of the month. Coffee, donuts and other goodies are supplied. Meet your friends and enjoy each other’s company for one and a half hours. From l0:30 AM. – 12:00 NOON
SUPPORT GROUP FOR SENIOR GAY MEN – coordinated by Fred Berger and Sheldon Sperber, meeting every Monday morning at 11 AM beginning May 11.
EXERCISE PROGRAM – free 16 week course specifically designed for seniors. Maintain or enhance your cardio respiratory fitness, muscle strength, balance and flexibility.
SENIOR WOMEN’S SUPPORT GROUP – every 1st and 3rd Friday.
SENIOR SPEAKER SERIES – Educational and health-related presentation. Please call Ken for more information at 954-561-0988.
