CLASS DESCRIPTION

The word Yoga means union or connection. The practice of Yoga is a series of movements and positions called “Asanas” that unite and connect the student to a greater awareness of their body and mind.

The practice of Yoga begins by consciously connecting to the breath which allows the body to relax naturally. This in turn opens the pathway to the movements and “Asanas” of the practice. As the student becomes stronger and more flexible through the Yoga practice, there is a unique experience of acceptance and understanding that transpires in the mind.

The effects of this experience are positively influential in releasing the stresses and anxieties that are accumulated throughout life. In addition, Yoga gives each student the tools of confidence, self awareness and radiant health.

The course will encompass 6 modalities of the practice of Yoga:

1)Breathing,  2)Flexibility,  3) Strength,  4) Balance,  5) Relaxation,  6) Meditation

The best way to learn Yoga is through direct physical experience. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a towel, yoga mat and water.
