Description:
Beginning Ballroom Dancing is a great way for anyone to learn how to dance, develop self-confidence, and improve social skills as well as providing both brain stimulation and physical exercise – much more pleasurable than merely exercising to music. It is the best contact sport in the world that is basically a performance, so a bit of flair for the dramatic is a useful attribute. Most importantly, ballroom dancing is fun!
The class strives to develop dancing competency/skills, coordination, rhythm and diversity. Ballroom Dancing is really easy, more so than most people seem to think. It is by its very nature both a competitive and/or social activity that can easily be learned and enjoyed by all. The class is for anyone who does not know how to dance, up to someone who may know a few steps, but needs a refresher. No experience necessary, no partner necessary, all dancers are welcome!
Ballroom dancing will add a new and very beneficial dimension to your life. It is a lifetime social skill that will provide much joy during your entire life. Words cannot explain the joy of ballroom dancing. It must be experienced!

Week 1 - Salsa Basics
Week 2 – Review Basics, Turns
Week 3 – Review Turns, Clean up footwork and Timing
Week 4 – Review footwork, Cross Body Lead
Week 5 – Review CBL, Clean up arms, Cross Over Swivels
Week 6 – Review everything, intro to Hips (Cuban-Motion)
Week 7 – Review, more Hip technique, Chase Turns
Week 8 – Review Hips, Sombrero
Week 9 – Review Sombrero, Emchufa
Week10 – Review Sombrero and Emchufa, Sombrero Complicado
