| Are you HIV-positive?
Would you like some support?
Check out the PALS (Positive Action for Living Safely) Project! The PALS Project offers HIV-positive men vital social support, accurate HIV information and practical strategies to lead safer, richer lives. We provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment for men to look at their own behavior and to make wise choices that benefit their health and the health of others.
“I’m amazed by the powerful, deep connections I made with this group of incredible poz men,” says one recent program graduate. “I now feel more a part of a community. This has been the most significant experience of my adult life.”
Working with HIV+ gay, bisexual, queer or “questioning” men, PALS uses creative efforts to decrease the number of new HIV infections in the community. Our programs include men of all ages, ethnicities and economic backgrounds as we work to help reduce the stigma of living with HIV. We are not here to judge or preach what not to do.
The PALS Project currently facilitates two small-group based programs: the L.I.F.E. Program® (Learning Immune Function Enhancement) and CHOICES (Choosing Healthy Options & Improving Communication EffectivenesS).
The 17-week L.I.F.E. Program® helps men living with HIV create and implement personal goals for health improvement, boosting their immune systems, lowering risky behavior and increasing adherence to health routines and medication schedules.
Our five-week CHOICES program focuses on equipping HIV+ men with coping skills to build healthy relationships, negotiate safer sex, lower stress and disclose HIV-status to family, friends and sex partners.
PALS offers both programs in English and en Español.
